QuickText
QuickText allows you to create reusable templates for note sections of inspection pages and material orders.
Adding QuickText to SumoQuote:
You can save QuickText to one of 2 locations within SumoQuote:
- My Templates = this QuickText will only be available for you to use and edit.
- Shared Templates = this QuickText will be available for all users in your SumoQuote account to use. Only Admin users will be able to edit the content.
If you want to share your Quicktext, be sure to check the box beside "Share template with all users" before saving!
Option 1: Go through the Account Settings
- Go to Configuration > Account Settings > Templates: QuickText
- Click on Create Template.
- Enter a name and the content.
- If you want to make this QuickText available to everyone in your SumoQuote account, click the checkbox beside Share template with all users.
- When complete, click on Create Template.
- From the Account Settings you can also complete the following actions:
- Edit: click on the pencil icon beside your QuickText. Make any modifications you need to and then save your changes.
- Copy: click on the copy icon beside your QuickText. This is helpful if you have multiple situations that are similar and you don't want to retype all of your content - you can duplicate your QuickText and modify the copies to suit your needs.
- Delete: click on the red garbage can beside your QuickText. This action cannot be undone.
Option 2: Searching for QuickText in a Report
- Open any project.
- Open a report for editing.
- Navigate to the Inspection page.
- In the formatting line above the text box, click on the book icon in the top right corner.
- Here you can search for a specific QuickText from your library or create a QuickText.
- When you have found the QuickText you want to insert, click on the check box on the left side of the window and then click "Apply".
- If you decide to "Create QuickText", click on the button, fill out the information you want to include, decide if you want to share with all users, and then click Save. Select this QuickText from your list and then click on Apply.
- Your QuickText will show up in the text box. You can make any modifications to the content to customize it for your customer. These changes will not be saved in the Quicktext template, only in the report you are editing.
- When you select the book icon you can also complete the following actions:
- Edit: click on the pencil icon beside your QuickText. Make any modifications you need to and then save your changes.

Option 3: Adding QuickText into a New Template from within a Report
- Open any project.
- Open a report for editing.
- Navigate to the Inspection page.
- In the bottom right corner of the text box, click on the + book icon.
- If text was present in the text box, this will populate a new template form.
- Finish customizing your QuickText, decide if you want to Share with all users, and then click Save to add this QuickText to your library.
- Your text will remain unchanged in the text box. If you made changes to the template you created, these will not show up in the text box here - you will need to look up your template and add it with the changes.
- If there was no text in the text box, a blank template form will open.
- Complete the name and description fields, decide if you want to Share with all users, and then click Save to add this QuickText to your Library.
- Once your template is saved, your text box will still be empty and require that you type text manually or add a template.
- If text was present in the text box, this will populate a new template form.
Using QuickText on the Inspection page:

Open any project.

Click on a report to Open for editing.

Navigate to the Inspection page.

There are now 3 options for adding your QuickText:
- Click inside the text box and begin typing. If you have a QuickText that matches, it will show below the box. You can select one of these options or just keep typing.
- Click on the book icon in the top right corner of the formatting line. This will allow you to edit or apply a QuickText template.
- To create a new QuickText, type your content into the text box and then click on the + book icon in the bottom right corner to add a new QuickText template to your library.
Using QuickText in Material Orders
Heavy Plan Required
Material Orders are available on Heavy plans and above.
- Open any project.
- On any signed report, click Create order.
- Under Pages on the left side, select the Materials page.
- Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on Add Notes.
- Access your QuickText Library from these text boxes and use them exactly as described in the above section point 4.
- Add as many notes as you wish.
- If you are happy with the content on this Materials page and want to be able to use it for other orders, you can save this as a template by clicking on Save as template at the bottom of the page.
- Add a template name, decide if you want to Share this template with all users, and then click Save.
